Thailand, Asia, Our World… we are all going through something right now.

You are going through something.

This time last year I ‘had plans’. I knew where I was going, what I was doing and how I was going to get there. (Or so I thought)… Then 2020 reminded me that life is like surfing.

As a surfer, I must accept the conditions mother nature throws at me. She has the power and I must adapt to that reality.

One day the ocean may be beautiful and friendly, lining up perfect waves to embrace and enjoy. The next day, she can turn nasty, swirling into ugly boils of water that are challenging and uncomfortable. Sometimes I take a beating. On occasions I frantically chase waves and only catch a few. Every so often I get rolled under water, my lungs bursting, searching for a breath of life giving air.
This is a part of surfing. No matter how much I want to be in control or want to know how everything is going to unravel, I am at the mercy of mother nature. I cannot control nor know how every situation will unfold. This is also a part of the ride of life.

We have to learn to roll with it.

When you learn to roll with life, regardless of what is happening around you, life gets better. You cannot control certain aspects in life, so let that go!  You can however, control your mind, your thoughts and your behaviour. You are not supposed to know how everything is going to turn out. That is a part of the mystery of life. You can however, keep focused on the good in each day and channel your energy towards living how you desire.

Whatever you are going through – control what you can control and keep going!

Roll with it.
