Your Big Fat A

I hope you feel vibrant! … regardless of what is going on around you.

With that in mind, how is your big fat A?

It’s vital you focus on it.

In fact, now is the time your big A is going to impact your future more than ever.

Earl Nightingale reminds us, “Our environment is really a mirror of our mental attitude. If we don’t like our environment we have to change our attitude first. Now the world plays no favorites. It’s impersonal, it doesn’t care if we change or not. Adopting a good healthy attitude toward life doesn’t affect the world and the people in it, nearly as much as it affects us. The world will not change toward you. Be big enough and wise enough to at least make a test, to prove beyond any shadow of a doubt where most, if not all of the trouble lies.”

If you want your world, your wealth or your health to improve, your big attitude plays a vital role.

Begin to tweak it right now. Focus on thinking thoughts that create feelings that are good for you

And if life seems challenging right now, I invite you to imagine better circumstances. You can do that. From an attitude perspective, you can only hold one thought at a time, so flick that switch inside your mind and set it with an, ‘UP attitude’ of what you want to achieve. Negativity will not help

This week, I encourage you to work on your big A and radiate to the world an attitude of, ‘I am OK!’.

And if this is still too challenging, contact me for a conversation to see how I can help you.

Lets Talk About XXX

Lets talk about XXX baby…
Lets talk about you and me…
Lets talk about all the good things,
And the bad things, that may be…
Lets talk about… Emotional Eating.

OK… I changed the lyrics from the 80’s ‘Salt n Pepper’ classic. The truth is, that like sex, emotional eating continues to cause a lot of life challenges.

So lets go back… to about 9 months after the sex…

When you were born… You knew that mothers milk was the best medicine in the world. You loved it so much, you cried for it.

A few years later, you wanted to throw smashed potato around the room. And over time you were conditioned to eat exactly what everyone else around you consumed.

It’s pretty simple, you and I are conditioned by our environments.

Thirty plus years later you hear, ‘experts’ telling you to eat intuitively. Chocolates, fast foods and pick me up snacks, continue to end up in the trolley, at your house and on your body. Intuition is good! Um… that is not intuition… that’s hidden pain coming to your life party. (Hidden because it’s unconscious, you don’t know about it). Often referred to as emotional eating.

Intuitive eating is a great idea – if you are also healing emotional wounds. Many clients I work with unconsciously think, ‘I’m not worthy’, and wonder why their intuitive eating plans continue to lead them up the garden path, towards the very foods they want to avoid!

Remember, intuitive eating is tapping into the natural faculties you were born with so that you provide your body with what it really needs. (Mothers milk will hopefully not come to the forefront of your mind) however, ‘more protein, quality fattier foods, fresh fruits’ for example, may appear. And the healthier you become emotionally, you may even receive an intuitive eating signal to enjoy a burger or some chocolate.

This happens to me all the time. I tune in and find quality burger material or purchase quality chocolate and enjoy it for what it is – there is no emotional unmet need. I’ve done the emotional work and love who I am and love my body. Do you? If you are struggling to love who you are, contact me today.

As you start to listen to your body – you will become healthier. Your intuition may be a little off as you go on your learning journey and the nutrition may not be ideal, however, starting to trust your body and listen to it, while you clear any negative emotions inside, is a very healthy move.

And this is important – many people do not trust their bodies because of previous ‘bad eating experiences’ so instead listen to their brain. Unfortunately the brain has often been conditioned to think such thoughts as, ‘don’t eat that, there’s too many calories’, ‘watch out for that, that’s bad for you’, ‘that’s not healthy – it’s not on my keto / paleo / vegan / eating plan’, etc, So now the brain is dictating and controlling you, based on what other people have conditioned your brain to believe!

I get it – it can be challenging to tune in and start to trust the innate wisdom your body has inside. To help build back that trust and listen to your body, so that you may eat intuitively while over coming hidden emotions, here are 3 points that will help:

1) Be present in your body, with your body every day. No noise, no distractions, just be. If any emotions or thoughts come up, just observe them. Uncomfortable feelings or wanting to move, are often emotions being released. Be still. Control your body. Control your mind. Stay still. Start with one minute. Every Day. Quiet time will help restore your real intuitive self.

2) Avoid aiming to be perfect – there is no such thing! Imperfection is perfection. Remember that. There is no perfect eating plan. Those ‘perfect’ diets, with strict dogmas, enforcing their rules upon you, do nothing to improve your personal self confidence and ability to tune in and eat the best way for you.

3) Make a decision to trust your body more, rather than the conditioned voice inside your head. Sometimes that voice is repeating what you took in as a baby! It might be a great time to plug in a new message and change the direction of your life for the better.

Corona?

As the world ponders what is happening with the Corona Virus, let us stick to some fundamental truths, so that you remain healthy, strong and vibrant.

Body + Mind + Soul = Health

1) The facts keep changing so let’s focus on the truth. The truth is, that the healthier you are, the more likely you will be OK.

2) Health compromises of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. And the truth is, to be truly OK, one must manage all aspects of living as a human being.

3) If you are overly stressed in any area of your life (in particular your mental and emotional well-being) your immune system can be lowered. (NB: This is not OK. Being healthy includes dealing with whatever you have to deal with in life – seek help if you need it.)

4) The media aims to suck you in with their drama, because that’s what sells. Keep focused on what you want. Keep focused on what you are thinking. Remember, your body follows instructions, from your thoughts.

5) Take the time to center your attention on breathing clean air deeply into your lungs everyday for five minutes and continue to hydrate the cells in your body with ample good quality water.

6) Stay away from ‘foods’ that tend to lower immune function. My friend Paul Chek calls these, ‘The 4 White Devils’, namely; sugar, commercial milk, table salt and white flour. Instead, consume highly nutritious foods that are alive and come directly from mother nature.

7) Avoid over training, yet keep your body active and prioritize recovery. That means, supporting the parasympathetic side of your nervous system to bolster energy, vitality and immunity. (BTW your immune system loves moving outdoors in fresh air and getting to bed early!)

This week, I encourage you to tweak your lifestyle and boost your brain and body, for better life performance and share this message with friends and family who may benefit.

Help me

Most of us want a better life.

And we all strive for that betterment, in different ways.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”

If you want a better life, I believe this is a great question to ask yourself. After all, it is through helping others that our spirits are lifted and we feel better. It is by helping others, that we receive financial reward. And it is through helping others, that the world becomes a better place.

Can you help more people with your services? Can you inspire people to smile as you go about your day? Can you encourage others around you, by being a better role model?

Being healthy and wealthy are both dramatically impacted by every relationship you have. Ask yourself, what can you do this week, to help other people?

And go do it!

Who Are You?

In the health and fitness world there is a wise old saying, ‘You cannot out train a bad diet’.

And while this is true, there is another, more important statement, ‘You cannot outsmart your self image’.

You see, you can only ever create new long-term life results, when you upgrade your self image. Not many people truly understand this. Yet if you want new results, a new self image, trumps everything.

The challenge arises when the results you aregetting now (physical, financial, relationships, etc.) reflect and reinforce your current image. That self image, stored in your subconscious mind, constantly pulls you back to your ‘current you’.

It doesn’t matter what you start (new exercise regime, better foods, advanced investment plan, etc.) your current self image pulls you back to, ‘more of the same’. It’s like Facebook or Google directing you towards images, stories and advertisements that they know, you like. Drawing your attention toward the current model of who you are, and reinforcing that image.

Think about the people you associate with. They treat you in the way, that they expect you to be. Further reinforcing your current self image. This is so important to understand if you truly desire better health, wealth or more happiness in your life, because the only way to upgrade your image is by reprogramming your subconscious mind.

Einstein said, “Visualization is more important than knowledge.” He said, “Imagination is the language of the soul.” If you want to upgrade your self image, begin with the power of visualization and imagination. Image a new image of who you want to be. Just remember – your subconscious mind will not accept one or two random visualizations, it must be imprinted regularly!

So this week (and every week) I encourage you to imagine the person you truly want to be and associate your new image with feel-good feelings. Over time, the new self image you hold on the screen of your mind, will appear in reality. Believe in your vision and practice!

Win with Yin

As you know – life is full of ups and downs, twists and turns.

If you have ever been to one of my seminars or retreats, you will have realized that most people live non-stop on a day to day, year to year basis.

Appointments, assignments, coffee, Facebook, deadlines, Instagram…. coffee… ‘food’… Facebook, work, kids, clients, bosses, staff, traffic, stories, netflix, late nights … you get the picture.

I call this, ‘non-stop’ living, a YANG dominant life, where the majority of ones energy, gets directed towards things outside of themselves. And this constant outward focus to continually do more, without understanding the importance of YIN, leads to excess heat, excess inflammation, and imbalance of mind, body and spirit.

Becoming more and doing more with your life is inherently what your inner being want’s to do, yet if we push push push like a raging storm, sooner or later the storm stays inside.

We all do best with some calm time, yin time, rejuvenation time. We all achieve more and become more when we find time to be still and stop the ‘non-stop yang dominant’ way of living, that we have been programmed to follow.

You are an incredible human being that seeks inner harmony and balance while you pursue your life goals.

I encourage you this week to give yourself some daily yin – regular time-outs to chillax, so that you can re-balance your mind, body and spirit, and be at your best, day to day and year to year.

Remember, creating Healthy Richuals can be challenging – yet they always pay off in the long run.

February Fundamentals

If you need a little pick me up, remember that your number one project on this earth, is you.

And if you want sustained vitality of your mind-body, it may be a wise move to invest in the following fundamentals.

1)      Fresh Air
The function of breathing is of primary importance to a human being. We don’t do very well without oxygen, do we?  Perhaps a few minutes at most. I urge you to find fresh air and to breathe deeply into your physiology, the very source that keeps you alive. This alone will boost your mind and body and has immediate positive effects on your entire being.

2)      Clean Water
Clean water nourishes and rejuvenates our natural world, and we are intimately connected to that world. How long can you go without water? A few days? Perhaps a week? Technically water is the only beverage we require – it keeps us alive. If you are a bit flat…I challenge you to go 7 days eating well and choose to consume only quality water as your beverage of choice.

3)      Outdoor Movement
It’s very hard to feel alive if you’re indoors most of your life. That includes exercising in a gym, rather than moving in natural outdoor environments. Walk, swim, golf, tennis, shoot hoops, hike, ride a bike… hopefully in fresh air! If you truly want a more vibrant life, remind yourself that we are designed by nature, to be moving outside regularly.

This week I encourage you look at fundamentals in your life, required for sustained well-being of your mind, body and spirit.

Losers Always Win

I am currently working with a National Sports Team, at the SEA Games in the Philippines, and many athletes fear losing.

Many of us are afraid of loss and often associate losing, as being ‘bad’.

I would like to share something with you, to help flick that thought process on its head.

One of my mentors, Paul Chek, recently spoke about this. He said that in life we really don’t have winners and losers. He said, we have winners and learners.

Paul reminds us that ‘loss’ is an important aspect of growth and is extremely valuable. He teaches that we often learn the most at this time.    We learn how to deal with loss, which is a big part of life. We learn how to re-evaluate ourselves, and we gain valuable insights into how we can improve, in life, business or sport.

I encourage you to move forward in life with a mental approach to win and learn. If you are not winning as much as you want, start learning through ‘losing’.

When you learn you win.

Lose a lot = learn a lot!

Growth only comes with new learnings. This week I encourage you to embrace winning and learning!

Have a brilliant week and let me know how you get on.

You ARE Perfect

You are perfect.

Ahaaa… you may have made some imperfect decisions.

And, yes, you may have acted imperfectly.

That said, deep within you, is perfection.

Your body inherently knows how to keep you healthy and strong.

That inner knowing, consistently wants what is best for you, during these interesting times.
Your body knows how to do it’s job. It is wired for optimal well-being and wants to prevent you from any illness, bacteria or virus.

Now is the time to tap into the unlimited power of your human potential. In order to do so, consider the following, that one of my mentors taught me.

In order to be in peak health one must think right.

In order to think right, one must rest right.

In order to rest right – one must move right.

In order to move right – one must eat right.

In order to eat right – one must be hydrated.

This week, I encourage you to work on the simplicity of the information above, so that you may tap into the unlimited power of your human potential.
